Letter from the Chapter
Dear Potential New Members,
My name is Hannah, and I am the Vice President of Membership for the 2020 term. I’d like to introduce myself to you personally, and I want to strongly encourage you to go through Primary Recruitment this fall! Being in a sorority, and this community at large, has impacted my college experience for the better. Sigma Kappa in particular, has led me to some amazing women, countless memories, and a unique sisterhood in which I feel supported and encouraged to be the very best and truest version of myself.
As a whole, the University of Oregon Panhellenic Council hosts 12 amazing chapters, and this community is one of school spirit, service, and friendship. Going through recruitment in itself, is a great way to get involved in campus; not only do you get to meet women from each house, but friendships and connections can be easily made with your fellow PNMs. Regardless of whether you are an incoming freshman, or even a sophomore still looking to make some connections at the UO, I strongly encourage you to go through Primary Recruitment this fall, seeing as it is one of the best ways to get involved on campus. “Going Greek” will surround you with women who share common values and will also provide you with ample opportunities, such as networking or personal development, throughout your collegiate experience.
If you have any questions or concerns about Primary Recruitment or Greek life in general, feel free to contact me, or follow us on Instagram @uosigmakappa or Facebook @oregonsigmakappa. I want to thank you for your interest in Sigma Kappa, and Oregon’s Greek life in general. If you are still unsure of whether Greek life is for you, I really do recommend that you try it out. If you are planning to go through recruitment in the Fall, we are so excited to meet you, and wish you the very best throughout this process. The sororities we have here on campus are all different from one another, and I am confident that you will find that sense of belonging within this community!
Hannah Arquisch, Vice President of Membership
